What is strength training, how can it help you and how to get started?

It may seem scary to think about strength training and the first thing that may come to mind is being in a gym surrounded by meat heads with a sea of free weights and machines looking at you with great intimidation. That's where you are wrong. Strength training can come in many forms and can start with simple workouts that you can do in your home to help build strength in your entire body.

Strength training gives you better flexibility and by strengthening your muscles it improves joint strength, which helps avoid joint pain. Strength exercises can also improve your balance and posture.

To get started with your strength training, join the Virtual Challenge and get a 1 month, 2 month or 3 month program to get you started and build the base you need to further your fitness goals. Then when you are up to it and want to, you can be in that gym with the sea of free weights and machines showing those meat heads how it's really done. There is nothing more satisfying than watching a meat head's jaw drop when they see how much weight you are lifting.
