What to Wear

Mitchell, SD lake photo

It has been a crazy few weeks. We have been on the road for what I call our big trip of the year. I spent seven straight days in a truck in a different city each day while working two events in the middle of it. I finally was able to take a couple of days off and spent a marathon day of watching Gilmore Girls. Don’t judge, I love that show!

I have spent so much time and searched far and wide to find clothing that I like to be active in and work events in. I don’t mind paying money for quality clothing and I look for technical pieces that will breathe and dry out quickly. Recently, I purchased some clothing from Lands’ End for the first time. It was a recommendation from my mother-in-law. Like everyone else who sells plus size clothing, they had a small selection of work out wear but I was able to pick up a few key pieces that I liked. I will note that I’m not sponsored by Lands’ End and my reviews below are my personal opinions.

Here is what I bought.

Women's Active Short Sleeve T-shirt

Color: Fresh aqua

Fit: Good

Pros: Loose around my belly and not too tight, good length, soft material, nice color

Cons: Bust is a bit too large for me but it hangs ok with that extra material so I am still able to wear it and feel good in it

Additional thoughts: I haven’t given it the true sweat test yet to see if it really is moisture wicking but I have liked it so far.

Women's Active V-neck Tank

Color: Fuchsia Multi-Stripe

Fit: Ok

Pros: Loose around my belly and not too tight, good length, soft material

Cons: Bust is too large so it hangs very loose around my armpits that you can see bra straps. Will only wear this to work out with a sports bra

Additional thoughts: Loved the colors

Women's Active Relaxed Shorts

Color: Black

Fit: Great

Pros: Soft material, good length

Cons: No pockets, material feels a bit heavy when really sweaty in a humid environment

Additional thoughts: Who makes short with no pockets?!

Women's Active 5-pocket Shorts

Color: Black

Fit: Great

Pros: Soft material, good length, a little bit shorter than the relaxed shorts, lots of pockets

Cons: Material feels a bit heavy when really sweaty in a humid environment

Additional thoughts: I like these a lot and have worn them to work in a couple of times. I haven’t worked out in them yet but I sweat even more when I work out than when I work so I have the feeling they will just feel too hot and heavy to do a super hard workout in them.

Final thoughts

I would buy from Land’s End again based on my current experiences. I have been happy with the clothing so far. Time will tell how it wears and how long it stays looking good and keeping their shape.

The pictures of the models on the website make it look like all the clothes fit tight but that was not the case at all. The shirts all hung nice and were not tight and the shorts were the same way.

I would love to hear what are some clothes that you have purchased and loved for working out and being active in? I can then add them to the What to Wear tab for others to enjoy.

Thanks for reading! Until next time…..
